This somehow felt to me like a November 11th kind of photo.
I am back to Nanowrimo now, more or less. May post pics, but trying to focus on November novel word count. Since I find myself writing in a notebook mainly at this point, this will be hard to compute! (Needless to say, type). But you can only do what you can do, I guess.
Working, sort of, on Nanowrimo in between kvetching about the election and missing blogging and now back in NYC without Internet access (except through iPhone) and can’t quite believe in my new “novel” yet.
So, a bit, frustrated.
I was on a train this a.m. with an iPhone, which is the devil’s plaything–meaning a very handy tool for wasting time. On this trip, I played with the question of whether to “sharpen” a photo or otherwise alter. I find this type of decision difficult, especially when working on the tiny screen. Sometimes I can hardly tell the altered picture from the original. Can you? Hmmm….
Above is a photograph of a Monarch Butterfly right after an intense storm The butterfly clung to this stem through the rain and actually late into the night. (I checked.)
The next morning he’d dropped to a lower place on the stem, and then to the ground, slowly flapping his wings dry. (As shown on the video below.) Later, I saw him flying around a field, stopping for long breaks. (The videos I have in the field appear to be the long breaks, so won’t bore you with those.)
His doggedness was amazing.
…is what’s happened to the little beings who have taken all those bites?
