Just brilliant!

Thanks, Dave. It was really just a lucky shot. It helps if you have organic debris on your window sills. (Ha.) k.

Karin that is a totally amazing shot! I never say wow, but wow! The wasp looks like a friendly one from a children’s book, peering curiously at the strange earthlings.

Yes, I was amazed especially because when you are taking these things, and your vision is as bad as mine is, you are never quite sure what will come out. I should probably post the companion pictures which make the placement of the wasp a bit clearer, but hate to destroy the mystery. Also I was so pleased that I didn’t have to -or at least I did not try – any photoshopping to sharpen etc. The great thing about a camera phone is you just always have it around – if you are me – so that allows you to take things you otherwise wouldn’t.

Having the wasp in shadow is brilliant. And the contrasts are lovely.

incredible camera work …..

Ha! Well, all I did was have a camera in hand, I’m afraid. Although I do believe that is a prerequisite to a good photograph! Thanks for all your kind comments. k.

That really is marvellous… as a photo-fan myself I think this is one of the better-composed (and sought-out angles) I’ve seen in a while. The shadow of the bee and the textures of materials are outstanding

er, wasp, I mean

A great catch. Intesting compostion. Complementary textures.
