Disheartened by Supreme Court/Thinking of my Mom
I made this video today, thinking of my mother and how disheartened she would be by current events, particularly in the Supreme Court. I neglected to mention in the video (and forgive its amateurish qualities) that my mother watched over her beloved disabled sister until that sister’s death. She would have been particularly appalled by Trump’s mockery of the disabled and the infirm, and, of course, his mockery of the military.
Vote! Early, if you can.

He is sooo horrid a person, yet many, many are under his spell. Yes, we will vote early, October 13 – October 23, we always do in a little town comminity building.
I am sorry about your sister’s death and her dimished life experiences. Same for Mrs. Jim’s sister, Arlene, she had suffered a stroke and was paralyzed on her right side. In a rehab center she contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized for double pneumonia. After two negative C 19 and recovery from the pneumonia she died back in the center. For sure she would draw trump’s disdain. She was 18 months older than Arlene.
Incidentally, he thinks Veterans and especially those injured are stupid for being serving. That included McCain. I was in for five years between wars except for the beginning months of one. I decided not to be a career soldier.
Thanks for peeking in on me. I’ve slowed down but I enjoy writing and reading the poems. Not much rubs off though to make me better. When I was starting to write I read and now own Ted Kooser’s peotry home repair book, some of that becane ingrained.

powerful. She is an inspiration.
I wonder now, if the buffoon will actually leave office… and if so, if so many whose poetic voices were swamped in the tsunami of his misery, might again find light.

Dear Michael, I hope so! And thank you so much for the visit! I hope you are feeing better, and able to get care despite the pandemic. Also hope your family is okay! I have recently published a new book that I should post about and maybe will go back to blogging, now that Trump will be out. I have been quite busy with work, but have done this new book (novel) and some manuscripts and children’s stuff. Much love to you–do stay well!
