Easter (American Sentences)

Easter (American Sentences)

March–skirt puffs up
like blossoms
blown back–Easter–
the net on
best hats.

April–sun crossed the nave–Easter–
waves of short white gloves almost
too warm.

Old lady’s
Easter–
even the memory
of Death’s held hand
unclasps.

Its palm warm
as blossom, soft as
worn gloves, lets go for today
all stones.

Quite a basket of goodies here, K. I really liked the use of the common Easter sunday items like white gloves and puffs of skirt, and how you subverted them into something new. Viva la

worn gloves, lets go for today
    all stones.”

Easter from three points of view. My favorite has to be the old lady’s memory, holding the hand of death. I tell people that I count down now instead of counting up. Partly I say that for their reactions.
Very likely there are about as many different thoughts concerning Easter activity as there are people observing Easter. Again, you had nice choices.

Yes, just wonderful. I love the verse about the old lady best.
