Branching Out?

I have been trying of late to branch out to different animals.

I mean, in my drawings, and I mean, other than elephants.

The first above was a European Bison.  (Sort of.)  The hump on his back looks suspicious.

Then I moved on to ducks.  (Sort of.)

And a horse.  (Ha.)

Hope your weekend was good.

P.S. – I’m not sure that drawings uploaded from an iPhone in their original (large) sizes show up on older browsers, so please click on image to see full version.  Thanks!  (If they are not loading in full, please let me know.  I could use smaller versions also.)

For me, the timid bison is the most evocative. And I do like the concept of an elephant riding a horse. Are we getting to see your first drafts?

    • ManicDdaily Says:

Ha. I also like the timid bison. These are my only drafts, so don’t know about first. I have to at some point take the time to work on a story. I have one I wrote some time ago about an elephant, dog and yoga mouse, and did some drawings for it, but never painted them or went further, but it would be fun to work on a story, I think, and to follow through with narrative pictures. Thanks. Hope all is well. k.

  2. Your duck has so much personality! We had a duck for many years named Ritz Quackers—he too had lots of personality and your drawing reminds me of him–

    • ManicDdaily Says:

Very cute name for a duck! You know I actually saw a couple of ducks today and wished I’d made them with more color – these kind of farmyard ducks really. k.

Wonderful! (Especially the last one – a real beauty.)

the weekend was good…better than the week so far…i like the bison…its cute and i like its face…the elephant in the boat has such a sad look on its face, in contrast to the one walking…interesting…

    • ManicDdaily Says:

Yes– need to think more of stories. My faces all tend to look alike! But I do mean to branch out. I used to do donkeys for a while and camels. And turtles. Ha. Of course, little fluffy dogs.

ha smiles..i like that the duck is bigger than the elephant… it’s fun to go beyond proportions me thinks..
