(When Calm) Thanksgiving – Flash 55

(When Calm) Thanksgiving

I give thanks (when I think)
for having been loved
wholly, and for
(at least, at times) loving
wholly, a miracle
(holey holey holey) for
this moon-pocked
soul, a miracle
(wholly wholly wholly) for
this earthen-worn
heart, a miracle
(holy holy holy) that makes
even the most porous clay
stay flesh.

***************************************

55 words for the G-man and for dVerse Poets Pub (being thankful) hosted by Samuel Peralta, a/k/a Semaphore.  Belated thanks to the dVerse community and the G-Man and the blogosphere and beyond!

Ha! Yes – it’s an old thing that I did when we were moving from playdoh to (briefly) terra cotta. I made some very good playdoh elephants – camels and turtles too and dogs were specialties as well as I recall, but you know playdoh – I think we kept the company in business singlehandedly for a few years!

Thanks Brian. You are a treasure in many people’s lives. Thanks much. k.

Wow, Karen, you found a way to serve G-Man, dVerse poets, and the universe with this one; loved it. It kind of becomes a mantra for me, and I do believe “poetry”is /a miracle that makes even the most porous clay flesh/.

This is wholly excellent, and seriously delightful to read. The words sound like little bells, muted and repeated. Thankful I got to read it, and thankful you are around to write it for us.

    • ManicDdaily's avatar ManicDdaily Says:

Ha! Thanks so much. I was thinking about your informal rule about not repeating words much actually, and especially questioned repeating the wholly as part of the litany, but needed the 55 words! Hope all well. k.

Thanks, Fred. It’s supposed to be stay FLESH! (I’m going to check it as I make mistakes all the time.) Fresh is okay too, but I was thinking of Adam and Eve! (Made from clay!) I had a very nice thanksgiving and hope you did too. k.
