Thanksgiving – Vegetarian/Carnivorous/Gratitudinous!
Happy Thanksgiving.
These are old paintings, but they always feel right to me at Thanksgiving, sharing the festive meal, as I seem to, with vegetarians, vegans, the highly-carnivorous, the gluten-free, winedrinkers, tee-totalers, sweet-tooths, salt fanatics – but all (and I’m pretty sure I’m describing many here) extremely thankful.
I count myself among the thankful today. (How did I get so lucky as to be alive right here right now! And with daughters, by the way, who do the cooking!)
I want to send thanks to all of you especially for the incredibly kind company you give me on the lonely journey of trying to write. Pearl and the elephants send thanks too.

Happy Thanksgivings to you and your family. I agree with you. It’s handy having children who can do the cooking every now and then. Even if I get extra-cautious in the kitchen and starts yelling at the first sign of mess. 🙂
Greetings from London.

Happy Thanksgiving, Karin! I’m glad to have met you here this year and feel mighty thankful for your encouragement and presence in this blogging/writing world. Your darling elephants-and pup- always make me smile. It’s a wonderful place to be. I enjoy the prospect that my children may cook for me one day. Have a wonderful time feasting with yours. Jane

And to you… I wrote one on thanksgiving… trying to give it a global meaning and move some of the misdoings around the roots of it forward in the consciousness of those aware of it (and to give some awareness to those just hooked on the football and turkey blissful ignorance trip), I’d be honoured if you’d read it — it’s my second-top piece
