Skylines
One a clear day, you can see cranes dangling. Something. This one is dangling something off the new Freedom Tower that is being constructed on a small corner of the old World Trade Center site. (It’s on the portion outside of the old building’s “footprints.”)

Yes, well the building’s supposed to have a kind of twisted point at the top. I think they must be pretty close to doing that part as I’m sure that they must have about 80 or 90 stories by now.

NYC is endlessly fascinating in its exuberant renewal of itself. Nice photo.

What a puppet show! The blue sky is very autumnal, the same color as here yesterday working in the garden with not a multi-story building in sight, and seems very separate from the ongoing robotic or laborious antics of man. That is a beautiful structure, just in form, even only partially complete.

Yes, I feel okay about it now. I was against for a long while as the whole site seemed such a de facto cemetery, but I think they’ve tried to be quite sensitive to that in the planning. k.

Yes! I think your visit really galvanized them! They had been very slow before! k.

PS – they did actually lower that thing all the way to the ground – I was going to film (video) but not so much memory and (thankfully) they did it fairly slowly. k.
