In Support of Mark Twain

The above drawing does not purport to be from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which is complex, human, and powerfully reflects its time and geography. How can the present be understood without clear views of the past?

Hi Karin, Great painting! Great phylossity! [excuse the spelling, I can’t figure it out]. Huckelebury Finn is one of my very favorite stories by one of my favorite authors. I like the way you say it; brings out the geography and the social culture of the time and place, and about needing to know the past to understand how we arrived at the present. I am printing a copy of this page if facebook allows it. I will let you know if the I have secsess.

    thanks, Roy

Tried three times before secsess; on the third try it printed three copies for me. I’m glad it did; I will have two copies to give to friends. One will go to my granddaughter Rebeka. She is working hard on her masters of English, at Buffalowe State SUNY. Rebeka intends to get her doctorate and then teach English at a University. Her masters will be in American Liteture, and most of her work is consentrated on Mark Twain. Sending my love to you all.
